Sun Room Addition, Novi MI

The resident's home is located on a wooded subdivision lot. They were seeking an addition to allow them to enjoy their outdoor setting without the being bothered by insects and pests that naturally thrive in this type of natural setting.

They were very concerned that any addition would block what natural sunlight was able to penetrate into their existing house. They also were sensitive to the need to have the addition blend with the character of the existing house as well as to maintain views to the outside.

The design phase analyzed various alternatives and methods to address the resident's concerns. The solution was to incorporate a double gabled roof that also enabled the existing sunlight to penetrate to within the home while not obscuring any existing view to the exterior yard.

With careful attention to the roof assembly, drainage system, and the architectural lines the addtion "fits" not only the existing character of the house but is a valued asset to the landscaped yard.
